UAE school holidays 2026-27: every break and long weekend
29 September 2026 · 4 min read · by the MamaMind team
The UAE Ministry of Education has published the school calendar for 2026-27 (and the two years after), so you can plan holidays, childcare and flights early. Here are the key dates.
The key dates
Does this apply to my child's school? The Ministry calendar applies to all public schools and to private schools following the Ministry curriculum. Private schools following other curricula (British, American, IB, Indian and others) can set some of their own dates with approval from their local education authority - in Dubai that's KHDA. Always check your own school's calendar too.
Eid and other Islamic holidays follow the moon sighting, so exact days can shift by a day or two and are confirmed shortly before.
Planning tips
- Book flights early for winter and spring break - prices rise fast once the calendar is public.
- Line up childcare for the gaps. Working parents often get fewer days off than school holidays - holiday camps fill up weeks ahead.
- Mark INSET / teacher training days. Many private schools add their own - they're on your school's calendar, not the Ministry's.
- Put it all in one place. A shared family calendar stops the "I thought school was open today" moments.
How MamaMind helps
Send MamaMind your school's calendar link and it tells you about new or changed dates - trips, INSET days, parents' evenings - before they catch you out. Your 6am and bedtime briefings include what's on, and on Sunday night you get the whole week ahead.
